Failures, 2024 — because success is overrated

2 min readJan 4, 2025

Here is a bunch of things that I failed at in 2024

  1. I couldn’t get 2,000 Subscribers on web boss Youtube Channel: Current subscriber count is 1.67k — that’s 323 subscribers away from the target — extremely poor
  2. I couldn’t generate a dime for Other Faces of Tech: despite the fact that this was supposed to be the year of our divine breakthrough
  3. Still on Other Faces of Tech; as Chief Story teller, I was supposed to publish at least 12 stories this year: I ended up publishing just one — not for a lack of trying though
  4. Dropped out of Nexford MBA program because I didn’t ‘like’ the mode of learning
  5. Gave up on all the Master’s applications I started
  6. Didn’t finish the EntryLevel Product Management Course I enrolled for
  7. Didn’t finish the two technical books I set out to read: Eloquent JavaScript, and Pragmatic Programmer
  8. Didn’t finish the introductory SQL course I started
  9. Didn’t hit my reading goal of at least 12 books — I ended up reading just 7
  10. I am still stuck with using VSCode; I am supposed to be a Vim god by now
  11. I basically didn’t hit all my social media followership goals for the year

And the list goes on…

Failure is not an obstacle; it’s a source of reflection of how much we really wanted to achieve these goals and how ready we are to go after them. For me, I think I could have done better at some of these things.
